This product was not hard to install and seemed to work effectively until our Labrador puppy grew a little bigger and found she could run and jump over the top. After 2 or 3 times she tore the fabric from the spool and we had to revert to a more solid barrier gate. Too bad. I liked that it retracts out of the way when needed and was not very noticeable. Overall product quality and price was good, however.

I’ve been using this retractable baby gate for a few weeks now, and I am thoroughly impressed! It’s super easy to install and comes with paper you can tape to the walls and screw over, so no measuring and leveling!! It doesn’t take up much space when retracted, making it perfect for our open-concept home. The gate feels sturdy and secure, which gives me peace of mind while my toddler and baby are exploring. The retractable feature is convenient for quick access, and I love that it blends in with our decor. Highly recommend for parents looking for a functional yet discreet safety solution!

The baby gate functions very well. It appears to be sturdy enough to hold a baby, a toddler, and/or a dog back. The locking, unlocking, and one handed unlocking features are well designed.However, it may need extra support to attach to the walls. For example, the stud in my downstairs doorway is right next to the metal door frame, too close to easily maneuver the gate. I tried using the plastic spacers and drywall anchors provided to offset the distance from the baseboard, but the drywall/plastic spacers felt very unstable and felt like it would pull out with time/any sustained pressure.Accordingly, I cut three wood pieces from a board and anchored them to the studs and screwed the baby gate to the wood pieces, which made a very solid support structure, while spacing the baby gate away from the base board.

It's a good quality retractable gate and fits 1.8 m entrance/openings. All fittings are top quality and instructions are comprehensive. They have taken care of fixing inside and outside doorway and also provided for the floor having skirting. I purchased for a door way that is about 0.9 m wide and fixed it in another opening that is 1.8 m.It works very well and serves the purpose. I was not sure of how it will fare with year old twins, but it serves well.Installation takes some work if you are not accustomed to drilling/DIY stuff.The skirting we had is granite, luckily I consulted a neighbour who advised against drilling in granite with home use drills. Installed it just above the 10-11 cm skirting.

This gate is excellent. It took me like 15 minutes to install and it’s perfect for the doorway I needed it for. The doorway is awkward and won’t fit most gates but this one actually fits !! I would 100% recommend !!

I’ll start off by saying we picked this gate for our dogs. One 4 1/2 lbs and the other 8 1/2 lbs. This gate is made of a soft mesh material. I works like a retractable shade but sideways. Mounting was very easy. It came with poster board material tinplates to mount the hardware. There is also spacers if needed to move the brackets away from mounting points. I did not have to use them. There are a set of anchors for the screws if you are mounting in Sheetrock. I raised 2 children and have to say I don’t see how mounting a gate in Sheetrock will hold up against a child. My sone would have gone through it and had the brackets pulled out of the wall the first day. If you use the for children make sure it’s anchored to a solid hard point. Again the material is a soft mesh. The locking system keeps it tight and seems okay but I would not expect this to keep a child in/out for long. It is working fine for our dogs. The little one did however find he could go around through the deck slats. We ended up putting at small dock box at the side to keep him in. Now he’s not willing to have to jump down to the lower steps. I was worried about the material bunching down to the bottom and binding up when pulling it out or retracting but so far so good. We have had the gate 3 weeks now and were thinking of returning but it does seem to be working fine. I’m thinking that we will keep it bing that these gates do ware out and being we are using this gate outside on the deck, the elementals will take a toll on it. As of now, working fine, the lock is tricky being that if you hesitate when pulling the gate out it will lock on you and you will need to let it retract, unlock again before trying again. Kind of like a car seatbelt. There is a handle just below the part that hooks into the wall bracket that makes it easier to setup. You will be tempted to grab the loop that goes into the bracket but that will only bring you frustration and cause a lot of retrys, so use the handle. If I remember I’ll update 6 months from now to report on durability.

I have owned a lot of different types of dog gates. From the really expensive iron gates with an easy walk thru door to the simple wooden tension mounted gates and various plastic gates in between. What I love about this gate is that it’s retractable and mounted to the inside of the doorway so when it is retracted you never see it from the other side of the room. It is super easy to pull close and retract. Our door opening is 60" wide for 2 sliding barn doors and it fits the opening just perfectly. That is the max opening for this gate. I just give the knob on top a turn to release it and then pull it open or retract it closed. I can do it with one hand. You do not have to have your hand on the knob to open or close the gate the entire time as some reviews have stated. I don't think they read the operating instructions. With a 60" wide doorway that would be impossible. The installation was really easy. It comes with a template for the left and the right side of the doorway with an outline of the hardware drawn on the template so you know which piece goes on which side and the orientation. They couldn't make it any easier. It also includes spacers to accommodate your wall trim at the floor. Super happy with this purchase and it keeps my dogs securely in their room. The last expensive metal gate with swinging door that we had, my dachshund figured out how to press the mechanism at the bottom of the door to unlock the gate and get out. Nothing on this one for him to unlock. Great purchase. Seems well made but no rating for durability yet as I have only had it a month.Update: 5 mos later - gate is holding up well. But my dogs (20 lb) daschund mixes have figure out they can go under the gate and escape. The vinyl is not completely taught when expanded out and latched to the other side of the doorway. There is just enough play where they can lift up the material with their noses and squeeze under. Ugh. Once again another dog gate foiled by my two escape artists. A bigger dog would probably not be able to do this. I really love this gate and wanted it to work because it looks nice and retracts out of site when not in use.
