I ordered four different gates, each one had an issue, bars that my kitten could squeeze through, gates that required installation and damage to my walls, adhesive strips that evidently pull off drywall. Then this gate. I know the reviews suggest it is flimsy, but I don't find it to be that way. I think it is ideal for a small to medium sized dog. Perhaps a large dog could do some damage to the gate. The key I found is to find a tight fit and with the graduated slots it was easy to find that perfect solid fit. Also, it is very portable, not heavy to remove like metal gates. I really like it, it's a winner for me!

I used these to seal off the master bedroom from the rest of the house to keep the cats contained in master bedroom. Needed airflow for the air conditioner to circulate and cool the bedroom otherwise hot air could not escape in the summer living in Phoenix Arizona. Worked great for that use or any other need to isolate or section off area. I used 2 of them to cover the entire door opening

My go to gate! I use it for dogs, kids and people, lol! Dogs and kids! I never have had any trouble and easy to adjust and install inside or out. I put them up on my back little platform above the steps for the small dogs so they can people watch and sunbath but not run around the neighborhood. Made well and easy to use. My little dogs even jump on it and it stays in place. Locks tight but easy to lift up and remove!

The 4 th of July was really hard for our elderly mini dauchshound. Poor baby tinkled on the carpet every time there was a boom outside. After cleaning the carpet six times in one evening we gave up and put her in the bathroom on the tiles. I had bought this gate to use during thunderstorms because she doesn't like to sleep in her kennel during storms and was glad we had it. It worked great. The only concern was the wood it is constructed of. It seems to be a soft pine. If it was a bigger dog they might be able to break it. The screen is a sturdy wire mesh with openings about 1.5" x2" . We used to have a toy poodle who could climb. She would have been out of the bathroom in minutes with this gate. The latch for the crossbar is really tight but the tip of the bar is tapered so you can get a fingertip under it to lift. For our purpose this gate works ok.

I'd looked all over for a dog gate. So much is online and you can't test the quality. Others in a decent price range are cheaply made and rough. This was very much like one I'd had for my previous dogs, so far as I could see, anyway. Could always return if it didn't work. Delivery was great; no damage. Yeah, it never comes on the delivery date promised. Finally got used to that, but still miffed. Have used the gate multiple times, and the puppy hasn't managed to knock it over or chew chunks out of it. It comes down just fine, and I can see through it easily. Glad to have it.

We wanted to keep the dogs out of the sunroom, but traditional baby gates weren't wide enough. This worked fine. Able to work despite 6" baseboards. Only down-side is that this gate is "noisy" if you bang into it, as the wire mesh rattles in the wood. Not a deal breaker, but noteworthy.

I have two dogs and sometimes need to separate them when they have food, treats, etc. I have a door that could be closed but the gate is better—this way the dogs can see what’s going on and not try to scratch at or burst through the closed door. It’s also great for keeping them away from cooking or if I want to wash the floor and don’t want them walking over the dampness. Great height for dogs that can jump. One possible concern is that the wood is fairly soft and so a chewer might be attracted to it.

#1. I bought this as a warehouse deal for $15. Great value at that price point.#2. It’s a great *barrier*, not a gate. This means you can’t leave it up at all times and easily pass through it. But! It fits super snugly in a door frame and you don’t have to mount any hardware to the wall (important for renters). Also dogs have trouble getting through it too, which makes it useful.#3. “Sustainable†wood means it’s pine. Which is fine, that it’s pine. Most likely all of the studs in your house are pine. However, pine will split if the grain lines up with the force and you add too much force. So? Don’t force it. (Even if it does split on the arm you can probably go to a box store and replace the piece with a piece of aluminum square tube for cheap and have it last forever if you have basic skills and equipment)#4. Super easy modification: Get a piece of sustainable wood (pine) 3/4 inch x 3/4 inch x 2 inches long. Notch the bottom with a half round 3/16 inch diameter hole. Sand it to make it look pretty, then screw it to the adjustable arm at the length you want it to stay. No more fiddling with the length, and if you want a different length you can move the piece. Voila! (P.S. you can see it in my picture)My girlfriend was initially discouraged that this was a barrier and NOT a gate, but she says she’s now 85% pleased with it, which is in acceptable range.Get it, you won’t be disappointed unless you force it and break it.

We liked this product because of its durability. We are using it on our deck to keep the cats from wandering off. So far it's been. Rey effective.
