I wanted a gate to keep my dog out of two carpeted bedrooms but I wanted them to be easily moved out of the way when not needed. As my dog is older and not so determined to get to a place anymore, I didn't need anything super sturdy. I had two of the more traditional kind of gates (kept in a doorway by tension, not hardware) but when I didn't need them they had to lean against a wall or try to fit them in a closet. I wanted something that just "disappeared." These retractable gates fit my requirements perfectly! They are very easy to install. They come with a template for the mounting hardware placement but I found it easier to just measure. They are easy to open and close with two hands but are a little awkward, but doable, with one hand. I cannot speak to how durable or resistant they would be for someone or something that was determined to get through (or over) them, but they work well as a deterrent. I have had them installed for about 4 months now and open and close them nearly every day and they still work great. I would definitely recommend these and I would buy them again if the need arises.

Love this baby gate! Its tall enough to keep her in. However make sure its low enough to the floor or the baby will just crawl underneath it. Installation was easy and it is sturdy

One year later and it is still in great shape. We use it everyday a few times a day to cover the basement stairs. Easy to install and strong. Clean design not a mess. My cat can get under it so that’s nice. My medium size dog can not get around it so it helps keeps kids and pets out.

It’s ok. It was affordable, but I wish I could change a few of the design features, one of them being the fixed wall mount. It sits a few inches off the ground because I had to fix it to the wall above my trim. Whether or not the gate is locked, my 17 month old can squeeze under it. When it isn’t locked, he’s learned how to push it hard enough that it unlatches. Also, the top set screw on the hoop that attaches to the gate itself keeps flying off. I’ll have to replace it with something I have lying around the shed. Overall, ineffective as a baby gate, but works well for keeping the dogs out of the kitchen.

Perfect to fence my toddler in the living room, also works good to keep my dog out when dinner is ready. Real sturdy and perfect hight to keep my child and dog out and easy to retract and expand. Blends in well and better then perminant gates

This is such a great and convenient gate! I use it to keep my dogs from going downstairs. And when we have company, it rolls up nice and easy. Watch the recoil as it's strong and can damage/scratch the wall of it goes back freely.

I bought these gates for my dogs. I have 2 clever puppies. And they will test a gate and find the flaws! These look good and are not bulky at all! They lock with a quarter turn of the knob and unlock by lifting the know and a quarter turn back. Very easy. Comes with a great cut sheet that you can tape to your wall and know EXACTLY where to place your screws. 8 screws (supplied) and your done! I don't know if they are intended for outside but I have one on my deck to keep my buddies safe and in eye range and I have not had any issues at all. It's gone through all 4 seasons (Live in the NorthEast) along the shore so you can't ask for any worse conditions and they still work and look as good as new. I gently hit it with the 'ol pressure washer and it looks good as new after a super nasty pollen season! I have no hesitation when I tell you to BUY BUY BUY!! Just come back and thank me later. Also you can see im a real life Buyer. The best bang for the buck here on Amazon for sure! I'm just mad how much money I wasted on crap gates before I found this one. And before you ask ... My Corgies have tested the gate. They can't sneak under or push through! But my lord did they try. They thought I bought another pushover chocho gate like the last time. My Bucky and Pepper have given up on trying to defeat these gates ! Plus these are just a few screws. So no major permanent damage to deal with when you feel it's time for them to come down. Some gates are so overcomplicated and wreck your home installing or removing them. These gates have stood the test of time.
