This retractable gate was the best thing since sliced bread 🥖. I purchased so that I could keep my dog out of my living room.Sturdy and durableI highly recommend, requires some tools and measurements but worth the work

It works well it can’t be pushed out like a temporary gate. Opening and closing is easier to. I’m very happy. It exceeded my expectations

Great for closing off a pathway where the wall alignment doesn't allow for a traditional gate. Where there's a will, there's a way, though. Even when it's locked, my little guy can still wriggle his way underneath it somehow.

My energetic puppy destroyed my previous retractable gate and I decided to replace it with this Spaceany gate. Unfortunately the wall connections on this gate are different from the ones my old gate had, so I had to remove the old wall connectors and screw in the new ones to the wall. I wish the wall connections were universal between all brands to make retractable gate replacements easier and cause less damage to the walls. The installation process is easy overall. All hardware is included. This gate is more durable than my previous one. The mesh is thicker and there are three vertical rods that make the gate less flimsy and harder to crawl underneath. My dog is larger and better behaved now and the gate is doing a good job at stopping her from entering the room we don’t want her to enter. I feel that a determined dog or one that’s left unattended for a long period of time could still wiggle its way in but overall this gate is definitely more sturdy than my previous retractable gate.I ordered the gray gate and it blends in nicely with my house decor. The gate is easy to open and to close. I also like its height. It is tall enough to deter people from trying to step over it.

We needed a way to get into the basement with basket of laundry, keep dogs out and allow the family cat to run away from the dogs. This solved all the needs.

If the baby pushes on it at the right spot, it whips open. Hooks need to be enclosed so this doesn't happen. Worthless to us.

With two big pups and an aspiring toddler, and a house with a lot of different things going on that we sometimes need to protect from them or protect them from. Over the years we've tried dozens of gates to keep the pups and kiddos at bay, and we've found a number of qualities that tend to be shared among the best gates we've tried. For a doorway/stairwell length gate, this one has the 4 most important ones, as well as one that's typically found on longer ones but adds a nice bit of extra security here:1. It's the typical 55 inches of retractable gate which fits most doorway and stairwells without so much excess slack a kiddo or doggo will be easily able to get underneath.2. It's at least 27 inches tall. This gate is 33 inches tall which is plenty to dissuade pups and people trying to step/jump over it. We've watched way too many people try to step over shorter gates only to have their back foot catch on the gate potentially injuring them and sometimes ripping the gate down with them. But a tall gate tends to deter this.3. It's screw-mounted. Adhesive mounts for security gates are a BAD idea. They will fail and fall off the wall eventually and sometimes, when pressure is applied, they take a lot of paint/drywall/plaster with them. A couple of drill holes you can patch up later is far less of a headache and will ensure this gate lasts a heckuva lot longer.4. Easy to open with one hand. While I'm not a huge fan of how they've put the lock on the retracting spool instead of having a lock on the actual handle, as long as you remember to lock the spool after going through this is pretty secure for a small doorway and not hard to open with a single hand when you've got a kiddo in the other arm.As mentioned, this gate does have a bonus safety feature for a doorway gate which is the "reinforcement" in the form of vertical spines every foot that help to prevent kids and doggos from taking advantage of any slack in the retractable gate and sneaking under. The spines add enough tension to the mesh that, when the gate is properly low to the floor, a kid or dog trying to push their face under it will find the gate budges less than expected and they'll stop.***Overall Value***This is a great choice for a doorway or stairwell baby gate. Solid value at $37 (at time of review) so if you need a low-cost and cheap gate for a short-term solution this is a great bet.

Finally a gate that my dog can not get through. My dog has accidents in the house sometimes when we are gone so I needed to block him in the hallway. He had been able to escape everytime until we got this gate. I love that even though it’s mounted to the wall you can just slide the whole gate off and on the wall within a second.
