I read the reviews and decided on go with the wood look. The product itself is good. Attractive looking and if your dog is respectful of a gate it would be perfect. If you have a beagle? Good luck! I lean our old gate on the new one because she has a healthy respect for that one… makes a loud noise when knocked over.The reason I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars is that while the hinge design is very cool, it allows it to fold either direction allowing a dog to easily move it out of the way.

This gate looks good, although it does appear to not be made well. It wasn't sanded well, and hardware looks a little flimsy. Still, it looks good on my steps. My big issue with this fence (and, frankly, all fences with several connected sections but free end sections) is that one of my dogs just uses his nose to push the ends away and get by them. Push the ends out and it's easy to get up those steps and eat the cat food. Oh yes! He is very good at this, which means I have to barricade the ends, which kind of defeats the reason for such a flexible and easy to move fence. So, beware.

It has totally stopped my cat from getting into my plants!! And it's absolutely gorgeous, great product and would totally buy again if needed! It comes out of the box assembled, you just unfold it, it's not to heavy, but it's extremely sturdy.

It was beyond my expectations of a gate. I bought it because I had my niece’s little tiny dog here for a while. It match my furniture, so it was wonderful. Extremely sturdy and heavy. Since I don’t have the job anymore, I put it up against the wall in my extra room and it looks adorable.

We were lucky to get 18 mos. out of this gate. We've kept it out of weather but didn't help. The base expands, swells and then it becomes loose. Can't fix because of expansion. Thin plastic top runner to cover the base comes off first. That can be glued but never looks the same. We were a returning customer. We got 6 yrs out of our white one. It was made better and our neighbor still has it. They just painted it. Sad so many vendors take advantage of the public to make an extra buck. We're tired of getting ripped off.

This is great. Works exactly as I hoped. It looks nice and lets my cats have access to litter box, cat tree, food, and water without being bothered by the dog. It also keeps the dog away from the stairs and the front door. My dog has a high prey drive and likes to chase the cats (to play, she doesn't hurt them, but they don't enjoy it as much as she does). This allows them to be in the same space and facilitate training to reactivity to the cats while not excessively stressing out the cats. So glad I bought this. Definitely reccomend. Easy to use, sturdy enough for my usage, dog doesn't even try to get past it though. if she tried she could probably push it aside because of the way I have it situated. It did stick a little but wasn't hard to get it open and now its fine. Try a little WD-40 if you need it.

I have a new puppy coming soon and a long staircase. I really wanted a gate that would not detract from my home as well as keeping our new addition safe. This fit the bill.
