Unfortunately these snap hooks are not "heavy duty" as they are described. I frequently use snap hooks for scuba diving and rigging, and I can tell by the material, weight, and movement that these are not heavy duty or designed for demanding environments or high loads. The title describes these as used for a "dog leash" however I would not trust these at all for my 75 pound dogs. It would only take one good tug for them to break the snap. The snaps provided on leashes that you would buy at your local pet store are much higher quality. These are very lightweight, the snap action is not smooth (it feels very rough), and the locking gate is skinny and bends outward easily, which would cause the snap to fail. There is already some signs of rust by the inner snap springs, so I doubt these would hold up well in any suboptimal environment.Overall, I would describe these as "light duty" and designed for indoor or crafting use. It would fine to use these for light duty tasks or applications, but I would not use these on a dog leash, and I would not use them outdoors or in a wet environment.

I'm so glad there are so many that came in this pack. You have a nice solid ring at the end to hook to a carabiner, a zip tie, straps, or rope. The options are endless with these. I put a few in a zip lock bag with a few zip ties in my car just to have them when I need them and I'll probably put a few in my toolbox as well. The chrome finish is nice and the spring clip is just tight enough to stay closed but opens easily with minimal finger pressure plus they swivel. Recommended purchase.
