These clips are "NOT a RELIABLE" way of attaching and securing your pets. We are fostering a small but feisty and cute 25 pound bundle of energy. She has not yet been accepted by nor has she accepted our two other family dogs as friends. We have been tethering her using these spring clips. Often the clips just release and our foster puppy ends up wandering around loose. We were horrified to find her chasing cars in the street after we had tethered her to a cable and stake in the yard. The cable and stake were intact. The spring clip, still attached to the cable had failed and somehow opened allowing the 4 year old 25 pounder to just run loose.I am going to have to buy replacement clips. These are NOT RECOMMENDED for any use other than hanging a small flower pot.

I keep them in my gear back for attaching misc things to my harness or rope. The second I had them in my hand, I wasn't impressed. Sloppy tolerances and springs so light, just rubbing them against an object is enough to open the slider. They work, just don't have big expectations on these. Light duty and nothing more

These double ended snaps are great for so many applications. The colors (I got the soft blue) are really fun and functional. They are not super, duper high strength, however they are perfect for snapping lighter duty work. The snaps are a wonderful help with organizing small tools and supplies. Not sure how long the color will last over time, but so far working beautifully!

The Wensilon clips (8) are perfect for my use here on the ranch. Getting these in a bulk package of 8 is a pretty good deal considering that a lot of times when I go to purchase clips like these, the brick and mortar retailer usually only has a few in stock to begin with.Each spring loaded clip end is as strong as any other clip I've purchased and currently use. I really don't see much of a difference in quality between the Wensilon's and other clips. I will primarily be using these to fasten chains together on livestock pens such as goats, cattle, horses, and llamas. They appear to be strong enough to handle the job as long as you situate the clip so as it isn't bearing the full load if an animal rubs up against the gate.I think these clips should last quite some time and I'm anticipating at least a season or two including the sub zero temperatures we get in the winter. An old ranchers trick I will share is that it is a good idea to frequently spray the clip spring mechanism so it maintains proper working operation. Nearly any clip I've used lasts longer and the spring mechanism doesn't seize up.Overall I'm happy that I was given the opportunity to review the Wensilon clips as clips seem to be an integral part of everyday life here on the ranch. Great to have an extra or two stashed away in your glove box, tractor tool box, or even one or two in your pocket. You just never know when you'll need one.The price point of the Wensilon clips is very fair and on par with what you'd expect to pay in brick and mortar retail. Perhaps even a few cents cheaper since you are getting a bulk pack of 8. Highly recommend. 5 Stars

I have different brands of this style snap bolt and all have weak springs that some times barely keep the pin closed and in time become weak and eventually will not close at all. Perhaps it's a problem with this style of clip or manufactures don't want to spend the extra money for better materials or workmanship.
