Don't Keep Hose Attached To The Accessory Port
When you vacuum seal a bag, don't keep the hose attached to the machine. The air will leak out through port and bag will NOT be vacuumed.

So far so good. I tried this as soon as it came. All features worked just as stated. It looks nice sitting out on the counter too. Seems like a durable machine. Works just as good as my last Foodsaver brand and cost a lot less than I could have gotten it from Foodsaver for the features I wanted. The only thing I forgot about when I ordered this one, is that my last one automatically shut off after no use for a while. This one does not have that feature, or an on / off button. You need to unplug it. Not a deal breaker.

I work in the beef industry and am used to having access to high end chamber machines but was on vacation and I needed a machine on short notice to seal up a bunch of steaks. Amazon to the rescue and Potane was the brand of machine I chose. I looked at many different vacuum sealers and decided to go with this one due to the advertised 5 year warranty and positive feedback on customer service. I had no issues on my first run, I ran 20 packages back to back with no issues. I was a little concerned at first with the moisture from the steaks being pulled into the seal by the vacuum but it sealed perfectly. I like the built in bag storage and cutter which made it quick and easy to get bags made up for packaging. I made two bags to size to begin with and by the time I would finish filling one bag the machine would be done with the vacuum and sealing of the other so it worked pretty quickly. Not sure if this helped or not but instead of placing the full bag on the countertop for sealing I used a 2 inch tupperware lid to raise the package up level with the seal bar. For me this made it easier to place the open end into the chamber while also being able to keep the bag flat on the seal bar. Maybe this works for you or maybe not but at a minimum it should save you some on bag usage if you are a penny pincher like me.

I replaced a nearly 20-year old FoodSaver sealer with this product and I am generally impressed with the evolution of these devices. This unit has a smaller profile and the accessory tube conveniently stows inside the unit. The drip trough is wider but is not removable for emptying and cleaning, which is a deficiency. The controls are generally the same and simple to use. The suction is superior. The major difference is using the closing clamshell to properly position bags for sealing, rather than trying to feed the open ends of a bag into a slot which was always problematic. t is still necessary to freeze meats and damp or wet items before sealing. So far I have never had a bag fail to seal on the first attempt, a major advance over my old unit. Highly recommend.

I bought this product and didn't test it immediately unfortunately. It doesn't even switch on due to the difference in voltage between Australia and the United States.

This product arrived on time. The instructions are easy to follow. Haven't used it too much yet but so far so good. It has a good amount of suction and seals the bags completely. Would recommend.
