I have craft projects that require cutting foam board. I tried several cutting tools and knives all were a dismal failure and resulted in uneven, rough cuts and torn paper, not too mention at 75...painful wrists and hands. I figured there had to be a better way, so I googled: I found this brand "Foamwerks" read a lot of the reviews, watched some videos and decided this is the unit for me. I bought this ruler and the straigh cutter. What a difference. Easy learning tool. No strain on my wrist and hand. I get a smooth, clean straight cut every time. Highly recommend.

I had such a hard time cutting form core with an X-trao knife and this tool solved the problem. I will be honest: I had to put tape on the blade, and sometimes it would pop out, but overall, I am so happy.

I cut foam board to mount my pastel paintings. Before I got this wonderful cutter, I used a box cutter. It was really hard to cut all the way thru the material and get a straight edge. Also, I cut my finger pretty bad once. Now, I can quickly and easily cut a very straight line.

The cut is pretty good, very clean.But for beveled cut, it is not intuitive to control where the cut should be.If you follow their instruction video and push this tool against their ruler firmly, most likely you would get a cut more than 1/6inch away from the line where the ruler was aligned to.I found I had to use a regular ruler, tilt this tool so it kind of sitting on top of the ruler edge, thus the blade is really aligned with the ruler edge, to make the beveled cut. But math tells us in this way, it won't really be 45 degree anymore :D

I occasionally need to cut foam board for my model railway mountain layout or craft Star Wars displays. Being able to cut teh foam board in an angle leads to even more impressive results.This cutter, though not cheap, works quite well. It gets you neat clean cuts with a little practice and the right set up to cut along the lines. Its very sturdy design and comes with extra blades, that are very sharp.I got most other foam cutting tools in the Logan Erie’s, just because its easy to have have them at hand. So I would certainly recommend these for home craft projects, not sure if there are more professional alternatives, but it should do for commericial purposes as well.

Make cutting foam board much easier and precise! I use mine to cut foam board in model airplane building and I find it a great tool. I just wish i knew about it several years earlier than I did. I saw it demonstrated in a video on YouTube and knew I had to have one. I recommend it highly but one thing I suggest, order replacement blades at the same time you get the cutter. It comes with blades but they won't last long. Now I have to place a separate order for just the blades . Have fun.......
