My initial plans were to make something like this to do exactly the same job so I was pleased to find it already available on Amazon.I was surprised again when I opened the box and saw how well it was designed, constructed and the high quality materials used. I wouldn't expect that from the very reasonable price.Initially I expected to use it once, maybe twice but this will make a nice addition to my shop for years to come.

I don't normally write reviews and realize duds happen, but this thing squirted right out all of the fittings and pressure gauge despite me trying to tighten it down. As soon as I added pressure to the canister (@100 psi) it sprayed all of my AC solvent everywhere inside the engine bay. After several attempts to make it work, I gave up and used a funnel to dump solvent into my AC evaporator, let it sit for 10 mins and then used compressed air to push it all out.

Please read my review to the end where I made an important statement concerning the corrections of imperfections that my unit had.This unit is well built but the one that I received had a very faulty high pressure safety valve. The hole in the brass casting was drilled undersized which did not allow the round nose of the piece that the o-ring seal is mounted on to seat against the casting. Air rushed out of the safety valve regardless of the pressure that was applied to the tank. By drilling out the hole in the brass casting a little larger, using numbered drills, the seal ring was able to make correct contact and make a good seal. After the correction, adjusting the correct opening pressure was a simple task. The other imperfection was that the enclosed quick connect US adaptor had a mounting thread that was too small in diameter which required the use of heavy duty industrial gas line teflon tape in order to get it to seal. I still had to replace the adaptor because it would not create a seal with my female connectors on the ends of my air lines. With the exception of these correctable problems, the unit is of good quality and worked great.UPDATE: On 3-30-2023, I have been assured by the manufacturer of this product that they have corrected the issues that I found to be a problem. In light of this, I am changing my rating to 5 stars because the product is very a well engineered item and should work well now that the issues have been corrected.
