Look, I have a lot of specific criteria for the perfect placemat. I've gone through a bunch and hated them all. It needs to be really easy to wipe down and clean, not easily warped by putting something hot on it or just leaving it bent for a minute, doesn't stick to the table or the things sitting on it, and ideally also doesn't slide around wildly. These cover all the bases! I feel silly being so enthused over placemats, but it's genuinely bothered me since I first got placemats for my first table (and I'm not young). Hooray!

These beautiful placemats are well made and of excellent quality. (I have 3 full sets.) To add visual interest, I take the circular ones (same material with two colors...black on one side & dark gray on the other) and place the gray circle on top of the black rectangle, giving each place setting a mid century modern look. My dining room, the kitchen island and the table behind my sofa all look awesome and inviting! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!

Like these a lot. Look just like pic in listing (color is the same as pic, which I was concerned about) - very nice. I got them to use at my desk, under my keyboard at computer, and it's perfect. Have one under my cat's treats and water nearby. I think these will also be very durable. Highly recommend.

These are good place matts. After using for a few months, it holds up very well and all it need is a wipe down after use. It looks good and product matched what is seen here. Initially it had a smell, which goes away in a coupe of days. If liquid falls on it, it won't leak down to the table.Overall, a good buy.

Other placemats have ugly designs or colors. I was looking for a plain black set to protect my wood table. These have a very subtle pattern which I don't mind, and they've held up great to hot pots or plates. My kids have played around with them and "bent" them slightly, and they eventually flatten out again. Pretty happy with my purchase.

LOVE these faux leather placemats! I ordered 3 sets of 4 each so I could have 12 of them. I ordered in the black....love the black! I also ordered the white. I was very pleasantly surprised when I opened the box. They are packaged flat, so I was able to use them immediately. So well made! Sturdy, easy to clean and I found that they are reversible! I threw a wedding shower at my house last night (thought I had taken a picture of the table setting, but didn't). When I ordered and received these I loved that they were not your run-of-the-mill placemats. I loved the looks of the crocodile print, but was amazed that the back side of the placemat was smooth and just as nice as the top side. I ended up using the smooth back side with the place settings and loved the look! Black placemats with white swirl design plates. Beautiful!!!! I would highly recommend these placemats!!!! So glad I found these!!!!!

I have a table with 4 place settings but I wanted a couple of extra place mats in order to protect our table where food is set. This set has worked out well. I think these look good and spills are able to be cleaned up in short order. I had a set of fabric place mats and having to put them in the wash every time there was a small spill was a pain. I wanted leather place mats but believe these synthetic versions work great at a much better price. This was a nice upgrade and gives me the peace of mind my table will be protected.

Very Pleased with the look and quality of these. I have been searching to replace my very Old ones with this "Exact Type" of placements for years. I have ordered several Duds in the last couple years and returned them because they couldn't hold a candle to my Old ones. My old ones were from Dakota Placements with this Texture on the front and had a FABRIC back, they don't make those anymore ! These are Medium thick. Don't slide around, easy to wipe clean. Smooth surface on the back, so it doesn't scratch your table. Great Price for the quality! ( I ordered the set of 4, Love them so much I am going to order another set) Still keeping my old ones just in case ;) lol..Note: They are NOT Hardboard, as the confusing description describes. I was thinking they may have a Cork back, like other brands have. Just a nice medium/thickness weight.
