Es geht eben nichts über das Original. Vergesst die billigen China- Kopien, die so was von unterirdisch gestaltet sind. Lieber die zwar teuren, aber dafür hochwertigen Modelle von Dept 56. Versand aus USA hat top geklappt.

I ordered this house, along with many of the other parts of this set up. Spent a lot of money on it. The house worked great the first year. We used the same packaging it came in, made sure to store it in a tub where it could not get damaged or bumped in any way. I pulled the house out this year, a bunch of the bulbs do not work. They are the bulbs in the middle front part of the roof so it doesn’t look good without them lit. I contacted the department 56 customer line. The man I spoke to said they do not supply/sell replacement parts for this house. I asked how I would go about getting it fixed and he said they don’t have a repair shop. So basically if the lights ever stop working, that is just the situation and the end of it. I could understand that if it were a cheap item. But if you are going to sell something that costs so much, expect people to need to buy replacement parts! In total I’ve spent close to 1000.00 on this set. And the largest part of it (the house) now doesn’t work. I was more then willing to buy whatever part I needed to fix it. I cannot speak about anything else department 56 sells. This is the only set I have purchased from them. But if you do buy this house, be aware that it may stop working within a year, and you can’t exchanged it or get it fixed at that point. So it may just be a 1 time use decoration. I would not pay what I did, to use it once.

I just got this delivered to me yesterday. And I can't say how happy I am with this product. First of all I'm a Christmas Vacation fanatic, I absolutely love that movie, so when I saw this collection I ordered every single piece I could find. This was the last piece that was delivered. When I first plugged it in I thought the lighting was a bit poor..... That is till I found the magic button on the back off the house....AMAZING!!! It litt up all the exterior lights just like the blinding the neighborhood part in the movie. I literally heard my self sing out loud "Joy to the World" .... Lol. Then I discovered if you hit the button again it makes then twinkle. So you actually get Three settings which this house. Absolutely beautiful!!! I don't know how long these lights will last in long term, if something goes wrong I will update but the fresh out off the box theory left me breathless and very happy. For the people complaining about the price, if you actually log in to Department 56, these homes go for a much higher price. Your buying a name brand not a Walmart knock off. And as for the comments about it not being exactly like the Grizwalts house, you can see that in the picture before you buy it it's not a surprise when you open the box, yet when you set it up Christmas Vacation is the first thing that pops in your mind, regardless the fact that there are some differences and a missing garage. That's just my opinion.
