These are heavy duty, well made and easy to install. I only gave them 4 stars because I feel they are kinda bulky looking and a little too pricey to use for crafts. It would be nice if they also came in a more neutral color like gray.

This set works well enough, however I was under the impression it came with 16 grommets, I actually got 12 of one half the grommet and 11 of the other half. Leaving only 11 useable complete grommets, unfortunately I needed 12 total and hoped to have a few spares incase they were needed for repairs. Also the cutter part is trash and couldn't cut cheese let alone fabrics, so I used scissors instead.

Exactly what I was looking for. Did the job for the most part. Unfortunately there was one spot in my tent where the material was too thick so the grommet wouldn't fit which was unfortunate but would be the same with any set I think. Decent quality and decent price.

Work really well for adding reinforcing grommets to any sort of tarp or cover. I used a hole punch for the tarp cutout and used a small dead blow mallet to hammer the grommets iogether, its easy once you determine the proper location and cut the hole in the tarp. My 1 star deduction is because these grommets are not reusable so it's once and done so be careful with your layout and installation.

wonderful! Although, the punch does go dull and needed sharpening way too often. Overall worked better than I expected. Price is right.

I don't know how I lived without these. I use them regardless of having grommets in the tarp already, these clips hold and DON'T tear out like the grommets do. Very, very useful. They also allow you to fold a tarp in half and double up the grommets on the one side making them even stronger, and then use the clips on the fold side. Now, with a double thick tarp, you have in essence two tarps with double the strength. I've never had one of these clips rip the tarp or come off, if I do, I'll update this post.

Will do the job, but I think not as well as the EasyKlips which I ordered for comparison. Not only are the EasyKlips easier to install, but they get more bite on the tarp the more they are pulled. A couple of these came loose, until I really dialed up the screw fitting.

Used these twice so far along with some garden spikes to keep a waterproof blanket in place on the grass. Both days were pretty windy and these kept the blanket in place. I read some posts about waterproof/resistant blankets being slippery because the water resistant side and the soft fleece side were not sewn together. With these, I did not have that issue at all. These clips so far have maintained an excellent grip even on a windy day. I have not used these with a tarp or during a storm with super high winds so I cannot speak to their efficacy in that respect but I did take a close look at the grip when I tightened the screw on the blanket and the grip is a pretty good one so they would work well during a rain storm. as long as you have a quality tarp.

USESMost uses are to add rope points to sheet-like materials which do not already have eyelets, for attaching ropes, bungy cords, etc> Use on any tarp or sheeting which does not have eyelets> Use on a tarp when the eyelets are spaced too far apart, or at inconvenient locations> Use plastic sheeting like a tarp to protect patio furniture, cars, etc.> Hang a wet rug or blanket to dry (but use lots of clips, or just use the clips to secure the rug, etc. to a drying frame)> Hang greenhouse sun screening to protect plants from direct sunlight or wind> Hang temporary signs printed on plastic sheeting or painted on fabric> Hang fabrics to make temporary or "arty" curtains, screens, and/or room dividers> Hang a quilt, Navaho rug, antique Persian carpet, etc. on a wall as an art object> Hang painter's canvas drop cloths to protect furniture> Hang plastic sheeting to stop drafts> Secure non-fitted sheets to a mattress (including decorative sheets to futon mattresses as sofa covers)> Secure a table cloth to a picnic table> Secure a comforter to a hammock> Secure beach towels or picnic blankets from blowing away (using weights or tent stakes)OTHER USES> Sometimes CargoLoc clips are handy for simply clipping two pieces of fabric or fabric-like material together, even when you do not use the eyelet part (don't attach a rope or cord).> Anchors or tie-down points for party balloons, etc.> Hanging points (e.g., for a lamp, etc) from a tent roof, etc.PROS> You can open the jaws of the CargoLoc clips to about 1/4" for really thick materials, such as rugs, cork sheeting, and heavy blankets, even solid materials such as cardboard or foam-board sheets.> You can easily open the CargoLoc clips to change positions, etc. It is easy to disconnect the clips to wash the comforter, etc. In some cases, particularly when you've carefully adjusted rope lengths etc, it is more convenient to de-install the tarp clip than to untie and re-tie the ropes.CONS> I suspect that in many situations the knob on the Cargoloc clips is vulnerable to getting caught on things or even broken off.> I have not used the Cargoloc clips long enough to notice them loosen when not desired, but the nature of the design of the clips makes that likely. In contrast EasyKlips [[ASIN:B0039YOMBC EasyKlip Midi 4101 220lbs Tarp Clip, Black, 4-Count] essentially auto-adjust, do not accidentally loosen, and have a sleek appearance, with no knobs or projections for ropes or other things to get caught on.RECOMMENDATION> I suggest the EasyKlips clips for materials up to about 1/8" thick when the installation will be at least semi-permanent.> I suggest the Cargoloc clips for very thick materials, for temporary installations, and/or when it may be desirable to change the position of the clip on the tarp (etc.) is likely.NOTEOne reviewer seems to be under the misguided idea that the clips are meant to attach to furniture and then be connected to tarps by ropes or bungy cords. Although that may work in some cases, that is not the purpose. The clips attach to the tarps, etc.> Click on “Stoney” just below the product title to see my other reviews, or leave a comment to ask a question.

These plastic grommets are a cinch to put on. I just wish they came in other colors! I got a gorgeous Indian shower curtain that just had sewn holes, and Wanted to reinforce them before use. These absolutely do the trick and were miles easier to put on than metal grommets. But the "Blue Tarp Blue" is really awful. Fortunately when you scoot the shower curtain together a bit, you can't see them! And they are strong, work perfectly, don't rust, stay firmly fastened: everything you look for in a grommet. No complaints there!Obviously would be great for a tarp as well!

I have a 17 foot square stern (has a 5 HP motor) canoe that needed a cover. Of course, you can't buy one off the shelf for such an unusual canoe. Custom cover makers wanted huge money to fit one by hand. With 16 of these I simply folded a standard tarp to fit and then fastened these along the folds - instant custom fit boat cover. Worked great and not one has come loose or ripped the tarp.

I bought these to add some tie-down points to a 10 mil tarp. Even with the tarp folded so that the grommet passed through 3 layers of the tarp, the grommets worked perfectly. I could even snap them together with my hands, no tools required. I also purchased some of the Coghlan's grommets for this project and these CargoLoc grommets are far superior. Not only do you get more grommets per package for about the same price but I had lots of trouble with the Coghlan's grommets because they couldn't handle multiple layers of tarp. (I cut a large tarp in half and was creating a hem on the cut side while I added grommets.) The CargoLoc grommets worked flawlessly, were easy to install and reasonably priced. What more could you ask for?!
