This product has a poor design. As you can see in the photos, the sliding piece that attaches to the wall above the trim sticks out about a half an inch further than the top piece. If both the sliding piece and the top are attached to the same flat wall, the gate would be crooked and either have a space or be loose at the bottom. I do not recommend this product. We returned it

I bought this to keep my puppy out of my computer room. It works very well and easy to put up and I would buy it again.

It looks good and it was pretty easy to install. I like that when it's not in use, it's out of the way. The only downside is that even with the lock on, it's still not tight enough to keep a small dog from going under it. Now, to be fair, our dog is very little and very stubborn. I assume it would work perfectly with a larger animal or child.

Easy installation. We’re using these to keep our dogs out the kitchen and dining room. Easy installation. I love that it’s retractable and there is more than one way to install/orient the anchors if you run into clearance issues. Didn’t want it sticking out in the hallway and couldn’t put on the inside wall because of the fridge door. Was able to mount in the doorway itself

Using this gate in the bottom of the stairs to prevent the dog from going upstairs. Works great and love the way it looks.

I love how easy it is to pull this across a doorway one handed. We use it to keep our large breed dogs in the dining room after they come inside and it's perfect. I love how out of the way it is when we don't need it also.
